Actually NY would not be a prime starting place at all .NY has one of the best health systems in place and a virus like this would have been detected ALOT sooner than in a country like Mexico.The reason this flu is spreading so quickly is BECUASE it was started in mexico where something like this could go undetected long enough to infect enough tourist from other countries who then go back home and spread the diasease .
By the time the mexican authorites relized there was a problem is was too late..thousands of spring break kids and tourists had already come and gone from there country.Why do you think so many school children from NYC are infected? This would have never gotten passed a dozen or so people infected had it orginated in NY.
