Asexual reproduction

This topic deserves it's own thread.

You say that humans will never be able to self-reproduce. I disagree based on the fact that other forms of life are currently able to. Almost all plants, all jellyfish, some organisms and some breeds of fish, birds and even a rare breed of shark can do it... why can't we?

Why do you think it is impossible for humans to do so over time?
