Chicken and egg.
1. If you don't have models, traffic is hard to build: visitors close the site, potential affiliates skip promoting it since it appears half dead
2. If you don't have traffic, models will be less likely to waste their time on your site
3. Return to step 1 and repeat until this paradox is resolved with a lot of money
It's going to be a long road to get to those "billions" of dollars of yearly revenue...
