This is a rather global problem.
Developed countries do not expand in terms of population, pension systems will soon collapse and we're turning into a society full of individuals with no sense of clan / family or future.
Why future?
The basic problem is,
no matter how quality individual you are, if you do not enable someone else to continue in your steps, no matter if you have kids or if you adopt, you have failed.
Having kids is the best thing ANY responsible person that want to see his country in rather stable conditions in 20 / 30 / 50 years can do.
Otherwise we will be turning into more of an Idiocracy / Mad Max post apocalyptic scenario, with massive amount of people with rather stone age manners flooding the countries that used to have "culture".
Substituting the original nations / communities with cultural heritage that enabled the growth, development.
