Let's see a couple examples of people who really reach a lot of audience through mass media:
1) The president?
- he's good looking, educated and he's on tv a lot - he's a definitive authority
2) Phenomenal writers / thinkers?
- I don't know, no one reads these days
3) The most popular rapper / conqueror of MTV / with fake teeth and a "make 5 shitty records and go fuck your self" contract from his record company?
- I usually don't see much ideological or at least "above the average monkey" level content in their mass media appearance
4) A guy that jumps into a pile of shit on TV in the prime time?
- well yes, they're doing the right thing, they're exposing the worst in us
5) The heroes from some of these days super popular TV series / movies?
- who are usually totally politically correct, really good looking, successful characters - regularly inventing new artificial and very emotional problems, showcasing disturbing personal integrity disorder - well "fun" and politically correct don't always mix too well.
I don't know..

The only ones who need someone to inspire and lead are those with no inspiration who need to be lead.
Here's an idea, don't look to others to lead. Be your own person.
If you need a hero you are a worthless person.
