You hip will probably hurt like hell. I don't know what type of body you have but if you are on the thin/slim side without much padding on you hips then it will be even worse. If you have a high pain tolerance it won't be as bad.
When it comes to pain think about the places where it feels nice to be touched, your back, hips, stomach places like that have a lot of nerves in them so it will cause the pain and anywhere where the skin is close to the bone.
The good thing is that you would be getting it where it can easily be covered up. That it means something to you is good. You're not just getting some frivolous thing just because you think it is cute.
As others said do your home work and get someone good and insist on lots of detail, it will make that tat all the better.
For me girls with tats can go either way. I know a lot of girls with tats and I think they are hot, but if it is a trashy tat in a bad spot then it is not. Getting something that means something to you in a place where you have to show it to the people you want seeing it cool. It means you didn't just get it for attention (unless you run around naked all the time
)
I say do some research and think about it for a few months before taking the plunge. Also think about yourself 20,30 or 40 years in the future.
