This whole thing is a fail.
I am guessing the humor or whatever is that the extra 100-140 per pair of shoes would go to the economy or whatever - not like it didnt in the first place. Then everyone knows as you mentioned their markups that they do. Plus we all know that if Nike became super cheap or anything to drop their lure of being expensive - those that most often buy them (typically based on price alone and not quality) would migrate to the next company charging 200 per pair of shoes.
