I feel bad for people that think there is some giant plan behind the whole show because you will be terribly disappointed at how it all ends.
I fell for the same tactic during the X-Files. They keep you hooked by suggesting a giant plot that will someday unfold, but in fact, the writers just wing it as they go along.
The same guy that started lost also started a show called Fringe on Fox and it's using the same tactics. Lame.
