We hear it just as much on the gay side of the biz, and the gay guys make the same claims, and have the same issues.
However, in our side of the business, if one guy can't get it up, at least we have the option of role-reversal, and you'd be surprised (or maybe you wouldn't) how often that ends up happening... whomever gets hard first is the top and the other guy is the bottom
The other thing I find really funny is all the straight guys who REALLY want to get in porn but absolutely won't shoot solos. They somehow think that if there's a girl there they'll be instantly hard even though they can't imagine getting hard for a solo.
We send 'em something that's much the same as what's been written here, and sometimes we'll let somebody come in for a shoot, with the understanding that if it ends up decent, we'll use it and pay them, and if not... nevermind. It works about half the time.
Oh and... Dave, I think your letter is great and I may end up using some of it... but the problem we have is we can't get our prospective models to even read 4 paragraphs, let alone 4 pages. I'm seriously thinking of making a video with somebody saying everything that's in the written materials with pretty charts and pictures, just so the guys will fucking understand what they're being asked to do.
