I'm gay and I thought the joke was funny.
That said, I appreciate the sentiment from those who were concerned about the message sent by the joke. Someone called me a "stupid faggot" or some such on another thread here recently, and honestly, it doesn't really bother me when that happens because I realize that those sorts of things reflect a lot more on the person saying them than they do on me, or on gay people in general.
I guess it depends on the intent of the person behind the joke being told, but I would say that nearly all of my gay friends enjoy various gay jokes ("Why are gay men always ready to travel sooner than straight men? Because they get their shit packed the night before...") because most of them have a shred of truth to the stereotypes that we can laugh at.
If somebody wants to start a gay joke thread, I'll be happy to post my opinions as to how funny/offensive/stupid (as appropriate) the jokes are, as long as I can swipe the jokes to tell to our staffers, models, and others
