domainrenewalgroup.com is sneaky
I got a letter from them stating my domains are about to expire, could lose my identity, yada yada. That is nothing new, but what IS new about it is they are not domains I have!mTherefore, they didn't get my information from whois, etc.
They offered me:
1. Domains of the same name I use for my gmail account. I only twice have used my gmail for purchases where my name was part of the transaction record.
2. A domain related to the first names of my neighbors!!!
That is scary and creepy. How are they getting this information? Is it legal? Again, I emphasize, this didn't come from whois because they are not domains I currently own or have any association with. How do they know my gmail? Obviously one of the companies I transacted business with sold them the information. How did do they know the first names of my neighbors?
I'm guessing this is legal but totally fucked up!
