Switchblades and Locking blades are both illegal in many if not all states.
The premise being that a switchblade is quick to pull out and therefore the choice
of people planning on stabbing someone(self defense or not). And lock blades leave
no opportunity for the blade to collapse closed during a stabbing.
I don't know if it's bullshit or not; just know it's been that way all my life.

They are looking to change the definition of "switchblade" that would include most common pocket knives and many knives used for construction use.
