The HIV/AIDS specialist here in Thailand that I spoke to back when we were getting our testing in order also told me not to only use the PCR-DNA as the only test. He suggested doing the Elisa as well, so we now do them both.
I would be curious though, why the entire rest of the world does not rely on this method alone for rapid testing, yet the LA Health Department said it's the best method for talent. Not that I dispute what they say, I just wonder what data they have looked at in order to be able to say this. Or is it the opinion of one person there?
While we are on the subject, why do YOU think the industry does not test for Hepatitis B or C, given that Hep is also a killer?
