Everytime you say "proof" it scares me.
Nobody LET anyone do anything. The attack was provocation enough. There would no reason whatsoever to let them sink our Pacific fleet when Pearl Harbor could have been appropriately alerted and seamen been on full alert. Considering the relations that already existed at the time between Japan and the US and the fact that war was looking pretty close to inevitable (even in the US newspapers from the time of which I have some) hundreds of zeros attacking your Navy is provocation enough to go to war. You don't have to "let them" sink your fleet.
The whole "FDR let the Japs sink the American Pacific fleet" is racist propaganda started by people that couldn't believe the Japanese could possibly mastermind a brilliant attack on the all-powerful America. [/QUOTE

Answer this. Why LET the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor, kill thousands of Navy personnel and sink a good chunk of the Pacific Fleet when the Navy personnel could have been fully alerted, the attack better defended, and the US STILL brought into the war just as easily but with far fewer losses?
