I had sites like that with more than 100k visits a day couple years ago but I've closed them down. I have optimized scripts and setups that allows multi-server site, static file serving from another web server... etc. Have lot of experiences in all this so if you want to make something really big I might help you. If you want to make something small/average, just find any script that can do that, install it and that's it...
