for mainstream... it probably works with dumb surfers, might even backfire in some cases - discovering youre talking to a bot, pretending to be a live person (big turnoff - price is always winning here)

in adult... the potential buyer knows what he is looking for and gets annoyed of not letting him leave the site he doesnt like (except maybe where selling material essentials - ie sex toys where he might hesitate), but aggressive marketing was always a downside for online adult market

the true power of human customer service is untarnishable by bots, turns this service to be no more than a mid-class promo tool (top developed though)

no offence here, just my thoughts and experiences
