I'm sure at one point they were fine but my impression is that they have grown to the point that they simply can't handle their workload from the amount of customers they have. Here's my list of gripes with them:

1) They are never in the office, even during stated business hours, which are a joke BTW -- 9 to 5? Seriously, who closes at 5:00 anymore? The Post Office has longer hours than that. Every person I know who owns and runs their own startup business works their fuckin' ass off all day every day, yet these guys can't go a minute past 5:00 apparently.

2) Even during their normal business hours, no one is ever online or on ICQ during the day as they should be. They are there for maybe an hour or two and then go offline.

3) When they are offline or out of the office, they are completely unreachable. They have a generic virtual office answering service that answers their calls and then tries to patch you through to wherever they are but that never happens and they have no clue where they are, so they make you leave a voicemail, which also doesn't get returned with any semblance of promptness.

4) Emails take days and even weeks to respond to. We're still waiting for a simple estimate on a custom order we placed over two weeks ago.

5) When you do get in touch with them, instead of answering questions or helping a customer directly, they instead tell you to go read the knowledge base, which is so confusing and poorly written that it's basically useless. When we signed up, they told us we would have to have some basic knowledge of CMS, which our programmers definitely do, but our lead programmer spent hours combing through that thing and still has questions about what it can and can't do and the best way to make it work.

6) We need some light customization done, which wouldn't take more than a couple of days to execute, and have even offered to pay a larger service fee to get this done and they don't seem to care at all, because I've been trying to reach them for a full week about this and am still waiting to hear back.

7) Even if they did get everything done that we needed them to do, I shudder to think what would happen if something went wrong. I mean, seriously -- what if one day our installation got corrupted or something stopped functioning properly and our sites crash? These guys are never there and respond at a glacial pace... I can't afford to have my websites down for days on end while I wait for them to get off their asses and help me.

My advice to anyone out there looking for a CMS is to stay far, FAR away from ElevatedX. That is, unless you like having zero service and no way to get in touch with anyone if you need something quickly.
