I made felon spy . com as a joke... the joke being that everyone would get super upset at the notion of "big brother" watching everyone.
What happened?
Floods of e-mails from people turning in other people. tons of e-mails with no factual information, no actual legal information - just..
"Please add bob roberts, address 123 main street, elkheart indiana, 22222 to your system. i think he's been convicted of drunk driving and i'm pretty sure he hits his wife"
This was my first big clue that this nation is actually ready for a police state. Something i would have never believed in my life. This nation is ready to be taken over completely by anyone with the balls or flawed ideology and sincere belief in it, to do it.
What else happened? CNN, MSNBC, FOX and every 1/2 retarded local news station ran stories on it as if it was real.. as if was a great tool - in spite of the fact that nothing about it is serious, including the randomly generated results which OBVIOUSLY aren't real.
I even have a video of a Deputy Police Chief in Rhode Island saying he uses it.
In one of my proudest moments - i recieved an e-mail from a fox news affiliate in chicago who said the following:
"Dear Sir,
We here at Fox News have serious doubts as to whether or not felon spy is actually a real site. Could you tell us more about it"
my reply
"Dear Sir
We here at felon spy have serious doubt as to whether or not Fox News is actually real news"
- which they quoted on the air.
This nation was founded on the principle of minimizing government in peoples lives and has devolved to the point that everyone is now expecting government to be the answer.
Its sad.
It's really really sad.
This nation is fucked. Maybe not this year or the next, but the simple fact is that it has an inoperable cancer that will eventually claim it's life. That's something I would never have said just a few years ago.
One thing the couple dozen hoax sites i created - many of which have been extremely successful has taught me is that i've given far too much credit to people in my life. People are dumb... and they're getting dumber. With so much access to instant information and being bombarded at every turn by twitter, myspace, michael jackson, american idol or whatever the fuck, they have almost stopped thinking completely for themselves... and critical thought is a thing of the past.
its quite ironic that i keep being accused of parroting "republican talking points" - when everything i've said is 100% true and indisputable. Obama TOLD YOU your energy costs will SKYROCKET among other things.

3 Generations from now, we will most likely be electing people like Emenim as President. We've already elected an woefully inarticulate professional wrestler and Arnold to public office as Governors.. its not a huge stretch.
