You gotta get past the 3 day hump.
You won't be like that forever. It gets easier after 3 days, and the withdrawal symptoms go away completely by the 2 week mark.

I used to be afraid to quit because my only experience with "quitting" was being stuck on an airplane or a classroom or something where I had to go a couple of hours without one...and that was total hell, and I was afraid it would be like that for days or weeks if I quit altogether.
Truth is though, the "nicotine fits" only last 3-5 minutes max, and happen max 10 times a day. So if you can handle 30-50 minutes a day, for the first 3 days, of a bit of pain, you can quit.
(Although if I was forced to work for that pompous ass that you work for, I'd find a much faster way to kill myself than cigarettes)
