I make pasta sauce from scratch. It's just too easy. It's maybe 2 steps away from opening a can of sauce and pouring it into a pot. Cut onion, cut garlic, cook, add some stock if you want, add canned tomatoes, tomato paste, a bay leaf, some sugar and let it simmer for a bit. If you have fresh basil, can add that too later on.
Even the more expensive grocery store pasta sauces don't come close to the above. They all taste like spaghetti-o's to me now.
