That's what happens when each site is so specific it requires its own series of tables... Since I was doing online gaming we had say... cityofheroes.gameamp.com ... The content displayed on that site (in addition to the 20 common modules [screen shots, articles, news, interviews, forums, etc...] there was also classes, items, abilities, etc...
So it added up really fast... Add in all the relational tables matching modules with games and users to specific sites they've visited... ratings on virtually every type of thing on the site, a credibility system which awarded users for contributing any type of content and allowed you to get discounts based on your credibility level at our store, just TONs of stuff...
Five years of constant focused development :P
