Hello -

I'm new to GFY and the industry. New and CLUELESS, I might add.

My questions are very basic about how to go about getting started.

What I really want to do is find out how to go about having my own website with videography I have filmed myself. I understand I get a domain name, I sign up with an adult hosting service, I sign up with a credit card service, etc. I will initially need a designer to put together my basic website, which I would like to just be able to update on my own then.

Could someone clue me in on the costs involved in the above if I already have my own video equipment and editing software? What steps have I not included? How much content should I have ready before I try to launch?

Most posts on GFY seem to be about "affiliates", and I'm not even sure what that is. I'm supposing it is someone else's ready-made content that you buy? Am I biting off more than I can chew with my idea for a Newbie? Does anyone have ideas for an easier way to enter the industry and get my feet wet?
