If someone is going against the "cultural tide" then having abstract law on their side
has often failed to help them.
Many interpretations of obscenity laws state that the "cultural tide" is what
will determine what is obscene. "community standards" is explicitly stressed as
a factor in those laws. The "community standard" will be set by the cultural tide
that has swept the community at the time of trial.
In simple words : When it comes to adult entertainment, if "the people" aren't ready
to see it then don't show it.
I'm not arguing what is "right"; I'm just stating what it is.
