To get their names, you need to contact the ISP. And they will not as easily hand you the information.

The story is a pile of horse shit.
Nice try!
Davy, I don't think you understood the whole story. It took time, but was really fairly easy.

It just takes a bit of work and cooperation from others. The main deal is to understand that the guys posting were active paying members of my site. They would post at WP to earn extra privileges there, such as access to premium sections, etc. The more they post the more extras they would get at WP.

My site using Password Sentry so I can review and log everybody entering the member's area in real time by IP and username. Whomever was posting was doing it within a couple of hours after an update was posted.

Some of the guys posting also had posted materials from other sites in the past so I would contact those webmasters. We would compare records see who was a member of his site in the month his stuff was posted and of my site in the month my stuff was posted. Some times we would be comparing many months and sites. That eventually gave us to a very short list of suspects.

The next step was simply the process of elimination. One week I would remove all user names except a single suspect at update time. I would update, wait for him to log in, then watch the old WP site and see if my stuff was posted. When it was posted (which was always within an hour) I knew who did it.

Another time I had a site closing. I told everybody the date of the last update. That update was posted at the old WP within hours of being posted. But, I had a suspect. The next day I sent an email to that suspect and ONLY that suspect.

The email started with "Jessica Members" so it sounded like it was a mass email to all members. It went on the state that I had found an extra video clip and would updating with it as soon as I got to the office on Monday.

Within 2-3 hours there was a post at the old WP site from "Denshaman" repeating what was in the email -- "Jimmy found an extra clip and I'll post it here as soon as he updates Monday!"

BINGO, since I had only sent that fake email about the clip to ONE guy, it had to be him that was posting all my stuff under the name "Denshaman".

Thats it -- basic, but time consuming, work. There is much more, and a few more tricks, but you get the idea.

Jimmy
