ok its been a while since I worked with 6 so bear with me

first thing I would do is import a video file that has audio and drag it to the time line

it should show your audio track, next import a video with no audio and drag it to the time line as a new video track, dont append it to the end on the first video track it should be a new track...you should have video but no audio....continue doing this

you may want to check the properties of the project and make sure that audio is set appropriatly

you should be able to render to whatever....your tracks with no audio wont have audio in the finished renders but the ones with audio should be fine

If vegas for some reason doesnt like this you can always add a filler audio track back dragging in an audio file and making the volume 0 on it
