lemme ask you this what if the homeowner were facing foreclosure when the property was purcheased from him, because he couldnt/wouldnt hold a job and make the payments.
Then what if he continued to fail to pay the agreed on rent to the person who bought the property to save it from foreclosure and as a result the person who bought the property took a beating and had to let it go back into foreclosure....whould you still say the homeowner got fucked? Even though he pocked 12K from the sale and got a years free rent?
