Haven't you "warriors" studied anything about anti-insurgency tactics? It's all about gaining the support and trust of the locals.
I'll bet you don't even know we've stopped poppy eradication, because all it was doing was driving the population back into the protection of the taliban.

There is very long list of nations, empires, and regimes that have all tried and failed to pacify Afghanistan -- dating all the way back to Alexander the Great. Britain is even keen enough for a second crack of the whip, even after having their asses royally handed to them at the Khyber Pass about 130 years ago. The British, Canadians, and Americans are only in control of what they have their guns pointed at, and nothing more.
