Are you kidding me? I can certainly see your point but this was no joe schmo that paid them off. That WHOLE ordeal was a media circus that generated large groups of people like this dave90210 idiot that went ahead and decided he was guilty. That kid will always be stigmatized as the kid MJ molested or the kid whose dad tried to frame MJ and got rich.
He is marked for life. But if this had been joe schmo no one would even know who this kid was and you are right, he could be saved from this ordeal by a payout but the fact remains he will be haunted by this for the rest of his life. Reporters will buzz in on occasion like flies to a carcus, or mentally deranged people, or pilfers looking to write his story or his movie, etc.
