lol that's like asking someone from Indiana if their heater can keep them warm when it's negative 10 with wind chill. Yes a normal central air can keep your house in the 70s even when it's 118 but it will run a lot.
pool temperature? well that is another story cause i never swam in my pools when it was above 100 during the day. I would go for a dip after midnight when the air at least cooled down a bit but yeah the pool water feels like bath water still.
