1) My dog ate the check.
2) My computer crashed so I lost the invoice.
3) I had the guys back East set up the check to print but then they deleted the entry by accident before they printed it.
4) The printers back East are broken so I can't get it printed.
5) My internet was down back east so they could not research the transaction.
6) My computer was hacked by the Russians and they stole the invoice.
7) A burglar stole my invoice along with the computer.
8) The PC exploded when our dog went to the toilet on it.
9) I accidentally tipped a bottle of cider over the computer and it broke.
10) My wife put the invoice in the washing machine, and then burnt it as she tried to iron it dry.
11) The wind blew the invoice into the swimming pool, and then a duck flew by and ate it.
12) My brother drove off with the invoice, and he lost it in Amsterdam.
