Lately I've been more into "not do lists" than "to do lists." We often get overwhelmed by everything that we need "to do" and totally lose sight of the things that are actually important. The "not do lists" helps filter out the extra "crap" that isn't really necessary.
I've never heard of the pyramid system but it sounds like a basic prioritization list?
