so what that is compatible with my arguement about fair use
you don't block it at the source you block it at the destination
that the exact point i have been making the leacher without fair use right is guilty
in your country no fair use covers the downloaders so the courts can rule everyone in that country has a right to be blocked (i doubt it but i will give the benefit of the doubt).

We had the same taxes and "rights" as you, but it does'nt work as long it is without control and on "public domain" by private people without restrictions. Something which is taxed by authorities, should be administrated fully by the same authorities. Just like a library...
Sooner or later, there will be enough political pressure (as long the piracy grows) and at some point the country hosting or allowing it will have to act and change their own laws. Sweden was a haven for piracy, but with new laws that will be history soon. As I said, if Canadians consider themselves superior to others, they will face the same pressure as we did. This has nothing to do with U.S or other countries running the show, but creating common rules. Without fair play, "fair use" is a meaningless word.

it never happened before, when fair use buts up against the copyrightholders right to maintain an outdated economic system the fair use has always won out.
vcr
mp3
cd backup
every time the fair use has won out. for every business person who is interested in protecting their profits there 100 people who want it to be free
politicians have to be worried about 100 votes, do something that overextends copyright and they will get voted out.
