Some guys are so fast. Our instructor was a 4th dan, tall lanky bloke and I got to spa with him once, so I was in fighting position thinking I was ready, he was standing 2 meters away, a few seconds later I felt this gush of wind on my top lip and all I saw was him standing back where he was, I lost eye contact with him and he punched a centimetre in front of my mouth without me seeing anything. Another time we had free for all with about 20 white and yellow belts in one ring, and a black belt joined in and we were all trying to get him and he single handedly knocked us all around and no one could touch him. Don't ever pick a black belt!
