I had to chuckle at the absurdity of this thread - Google lists search results based on thier proprietary formula (its top secret by the way) - it takes into account domain age, bounce rate, average page views and other factors and delivers results based according to what a GOOD site is - based on WHAT PEOPLE WANT.. The most rediculous thing about the false assumptions stated in this thread is the notion that google should somehow treat porn sites, or even one faction of porn sites (tubes) differently than the rest of the billions of websites on the net for the sake of profit. The integrity of the google formula, and the equal treatment of all websites in rankings is the corner stone of what makes google one of the worlds largest and most successful companies.
ALSO google doesnt allow porn sites or any adult related websites into the adsense system (erotic bikini stuff is even banned) obvioulsy they could be making a lot of money if they relaxed this ban - AND they would quickly degrade themselves and become polluted by the thousands of scam-hack-bad-porn webmasters that would abuse thier system in a heartbeat. Why would Google risk alienating thier core customers (mainstream) to get into the dirt with porn webmasters to try to make a cheap buck - besides mainstream DWARFS the porn industry in traffic and ad revenue by a factor of hundreds to one. Anyone who thinks google is missing the boat with porn or is somehow an "offender" to the porn industry obviously has no clue how google actually works.
By the way I'm not a cheerleader for google - I'm really pissed about some of the privacy concerns and the MONUMENTAL potential for abuse if it fell into the wrong hands (Murdock) or if thier management decided to start using thier database in the very scary ways they COULD use it IF all they cared about was profit. - I use
http://scroogle.org (a google scraper) whenever possible.
