hitting rock bottom is one thing.. being forced to realize you've fucked up is one thing
continued sincerity (when its not a behavior rooted in necessity) and changing as a person are another thing completely.
just like a drug addict hits rock bottom eventually... they break down, they apologize.. they can't believe what they've done and how they acted but without long term treatment, the vast majority of the time the drug addict, remains a drug addict.... because the problem was never the drug use to begin with... the drug use/abuse is most often a symptom of deeper issues.
i strongly suspect that a year from now, you will still be seeing the same person from years past, once again calling all of you idiots.
just my opinion.

The "board sleazy" was a lot different than the Sleazy you would meet in person, being an idiot on boards turn out quiet profitable for some people.
That being said, I think it is even more difficult to openly admit a failure and it is something not many people can do.
I think Scott deserve some respect for being upfront, I would rather work with someone that's upfront with everything rather than trying to hide / cover up their failures and dragging you down or causing various problems
Jumping from one business to the other is probably one of the biggest reasons for failures.
Good luck on recovering and remember to stay within your business expertise!
