Here is something I have experienced shooting in Asia and Latin America.
* The locals usually have no problems getting erections no matter what the situation is. My guess is because they don't understand the pressure that may be put on them to perform. Well, that and they are not the sharpest tools in the shed so they probably don't even give it any thought. They just do what they do naturally, which is fuck. The downside is, they don't understand how to work with the camera or lights and often hunch, blocking the shots you need or cum too quick. So I prefer not to use them. Besides, who likes to watch Asian boys fuck anything?
Latinos are better however, but the downside to that is they lack the language ability to speak to the models in English. I prefer Brazilians, as they can fuck ANYTHING, but the downside to them I've found is that they seem to have a routine they go through and don't do well when you want to just "wing it" and see where the scene goes, letting the two models interact with each other. They are pretty mechanical, but they usually have good wood and can cum many times a day. Fucking animals. I like to bring them to Asia where they will fuck girls, ladyboys and boys. Whatever I want to shoot, they will fuck it, making my job hella easy.
* Back when we used to shoot very amateur and unplanned content, guys I worked with had very little problems with wood. We would just roll the video and let whatever happened, happen. To date, that old content is STILL my best selling content. However, as soon as we started shooting in the style of others, as requested by LA companies, my guys all started having wood problems.
We now had to spend more time on photos, getting them all right, lighting had to be better, we needed certain aspects to a scene, a pick up and a handful of positions that the companies wanted, and so on. It become mechanical for us and we got a LOT of pressure from these companies to shoot it like this guy or that company. The result, I feel, was inferior product, poor performance from the males and generally a stale scene.
With that said, I do admit this job is not for everyone and there is a reason the old days only had a few porn gods who could do it. But I also believe there is something to be said about a relaxed, amateur shoot with no pressure to get it perfect.
