Yea still amazing the media does this. If anything they're responsible for much of the racism still left.
Regarding kids stealing cars to avoid church, I'm going to pull the Sister Act card and say that perhaps making church a little more interesting would be a good idea. I realize that kids should expect to do a lot of things they don't want to do - to prepare them for the same in adult life, but with religion if you really want to brainwash them into it, make it fun and interesting for them. Why churches haven't figured this out is beyond me. In school, I only ever learned from the teachers that didn't bore the shit out of me (or if the material was actually interesting).
