The New Testament was compiled by Emperor Constantine in the 4th century AD.

The Roman Gods were losing their popularity and therefore control over the people. To thees people the Pagan Gods had clearly failed and no one was listening to them. Emperor Constantine needed a new religion to regain control and Christianity fitted the bill. He could also decide what was right and what was not. Of all the Gospels that were around at the time he chose 4 and decided the rest waee blasphemy and was prepared to execute anyone who preached them.

The New Testament is also heavily influenced not by Jesus but by Peter. He went to Rome and started preaching at a time when Jews in Palestine were rebelling and killing Romans. Not a good time to start preaching a new version of Judaism.

There are glaring contradictions in the New Testament and this interviewer should of been asking them. Beteen the 4 Gospels that are accepted and others that are being found because they were not destroyed, Dead Sea Scrolls, Agnostic, Gospel of Brian, etc. It's obvious we were sold the short version.

All religions are about 2 things, money and control. That's why they used to find "relics" back in the 10th 13th Century. None have been proved to be authentic and many have been proved to be fakes. But the faithful still turn up to worship to them and drop money in the collection box.

About control. What could be better than saying God knows what you're thinking and I know what God is thinking. BS supreme.
