yes, there are plugins, including those accepting adult billers like CCBill, Verotel, EGSpay, NetBilling and such. This being said, as long as you have a password protected members area, you're set, not sure exactly what is what you're asking for. WP is just an engine, you could use plain hard coded html as well and you'd still be able to use an adult biller.
Now, if you mean sharing tour and member's areas using one WP database, it's easy to do, but the output and how well will it work will depend on your skills (or the skills of whoever codes the CMS).
Personally, I think WP is the way to go for almost any kind of site, including (and I'd say MAINLY) CMS sites. And that's why we decided to focus almost 100% on WP CMS sites. Think about it: it only gets better and better, with thousands of coders adding more stuff every single minute. Geez, you have free features most paid scripts couldn't even dream to have, as well as free features that works 10 or 100 times better than the paid ones. As a matter of fact, many people complains it upgrades TOO OFTEN!!!!
And about the security issues... I'm still waiting for a 100% bullet proof script, never seen one. Problem with WP is that it's used by millions of sites, and to make it worse, most of those millions don't have a clue about basic security standards. Hence, the chances to get hit are bigger, but as you may notice in every single WP upgrade, they're always looking to increase security, esp for the non-knowledgeable users. Believe me, if you follow some really basic security procedures, I'd say WP ranks between the most secure CMS out there, if not the most secure. And if you're paranoid, just add a couple security blocks on your own (I mean outside WP) and unless you've a keylogger or trojan, it would be almost impossible to get access to it
