It was 3 issues. One was the heatsink/pipe for the GPU was not up to the task. Second, the GPU ran too hot. Third, the solder that holds the GPU to the mainboard was too brittle and would crack after a few heat cycles.

All have been fixed with the new models that are on the shelves now. Of course, it could still crap out on you like anything can, but their warranty turn around is pretty good.
