transatlantic air france is great - and they even have those rocking crib things that hang from the overhead lockers in the center aisle to help babies sleep, that I've never seen any other airline adopt, but they should be industry-wide.
That said, European flights suck eggs, third only to Ryan Air and Easy Jet. I've thaken them 5 times now, through necessity and every frikken time it's been bad-tempered bitches (male and female) and a frikken pack of salted nuts (someone already made the comment on the peanuts). I mean a 3 hour flight to be served only a bag of peanuts on. Followed by a 1.5 hr flight after a connection to be served, yet again a bag of nuts. The connection was 20 mins, so I had to leg it and had no time to buy anything to eat.
For Euro-flights, it's BA or Lufthansa only. Both are great for families and both serve decent snacks.
