    Dang fricken trigger finger.

Late last year I thought maybe I was getting arthritis or something in the joints of my left hand, primarily my middle finger. Went to the doc about it finally back in October or November and he said I had trigger finger in the index finger on that hand and it was affecting the joints in my middle finger. Shot it all up with cortisone (hurt like heck and then was numb for days), but it was fine until the last couple of weeks. This time around I'm not feeling the popping or pull from the tendon, but from the first joint ( in the hand itself) of my middle finger out to the knuckle is visible swollen.. can't grasp anything without pain and weakness and

dang it... It hurts to <alt> <tab>.

Guess I'm going to get to go get another shot.. next step is surgery I hear... bleck

I have heard about that. I guess surgery might be a good thing though as it will usually resolve the issue.

Sounds like a long term keyboard warrior injury. I'm getting carpal tunnel.

Gave up pc gaming entirely a couple of years ago as it wasn't helping any.

How old are you? Have you tried acupuncture at all? I'd try that before being sliced.

I'm 48. Never tried acupuncture although I know it's very popular here in Seattle.

I just know that the last time I had the cortisone injections, it was worse for a few days than the pain I'd been having from the swelling itself.

Get to wait until next Monday.. before I can get in to see the doc and him either shoot me with cortisone again or tell me it's time for surgery..

are you a lefty? Is that your mouse hand?

Sometimes my index finger gets a little numb on my right hand (hand I use on the mouse all day) luckily it goes away if I leave the computer for an hour or so. I call it porn finger

If it is your mouse hand, maybe you could try a trackball?

My mom had it.. stay with the shots and avoid the surgery as they want to cut the muscles thus making your hand very weak for a life time.

If it were me I would do the same. I knew a couple of people who had carpel tunnel in their wrists and ended up getting surgery. It didn't really help, but the recovery time was hell and was pretty painful.
