I tip 20% regardless....especially if I will be back to the same restaurant again in the future. I am born and raised in Las Vegas, so I'm used to tipping everybody for everything.

It's strange to me to go elsewhere, tip somebody and have them stare at me in shock because they're not used to it.

If somebody demanded a tip however, I'd tell them to fuck off. A tip is supposed to be for good service. At the same time, a person that gives you good service should be compensated for it. If you've never worked in the service industry, you might not understand that their livlihood is based on tips. When I was a busboy at 16, my hourly pay was about $3 an hour. If the tips weren't over $100 a night, I'd have never worked there.

Imagine being over 21, working in a restaurant with slow turnaround, having $30 checks all day, and relying on tips. It would be brutal.
