The "official" date for the launch is 2010... Here,
http://www.energybulletin.net/node/4089 , a US ambassador said in 2005 that construction would begin in 2006.. who knows if they already started, I have no way to verify what MrCoolIce said in that regard but my main point was that indeed, the building of a pipeline is a major motive for being in Afghanistan, amongst other things... I didn't see your previous post acknowledging that a pipeline was in the plans..
