in PA its completely different. I get asked "when are you going to have kids old man" pretty often as this is something most people do by the age of 25, right after they get married at age 24.

it is like that here in Louisiana. Teen pregnancy capital of the USA, and most people pop out kids at 20. I'm almost 35 having my first, and people seem to think I am old having a kid. Told me it would be hard on my body, etc.

There are multiple 40 something women in my family who have had kids with no problems. Unless you live hard and plan on dying in your 60's, I don't see anything wrong with it. I know chicks down here who started having kids at 15, and I look at myself as having 20 more years of life experience to parent with than that.

good for her! 43 is not too old at all.
