This week football started and there are probably 100 cars there for every practice. When there is a softball game or baseball game pretty much just the parents show up, but for the football games - even 6th, 7th and 8th grade - there are a lot of people that show up just to watch the game.

So I think it is a combination of the violence and the finality of the games. Since they play so few games every game is meaningful.
