i just know in the state i am in they do not earn 3 something an hour plus tips. they earn state minimum wage of 8.50 an hour plus tips. i do not feel bad for anyone earning same minimum wage as everyone else plus tips on top which others typically do not get. i could understand it some if they got just the federal wage but they do not. also in my state they can not make them tip out or pay the place part of their tips like in some states.
i tip still and in my state i feel tips are 100% optional as i know they get full wages. if i am back east or in mid west i understand they may live off of tips more and may have to tip put as well so i count on it costing a bit more to go out. either way fuck em for bad service and if they confronted me double fuck them.
