I too served in the US Marine Corps and I signed a contract with the government; that contract provided my health care while I was active and if I got injured or disabled. The Marine Corps, bless them, pulled my wisdom teeth in boot camp. The military also provided me a life insurance policy (I think it was $200,000 back then) in case I were to die. Should the federal government pay families of every American citizen $200,000 when they die? Should we now have universal life insurance because the military gets life insurance policies?
Comparing this Marine and whatever VA benefits he might receive from combat related injuries to a debate about universal health care coverage is beyond stupid.
