I've had a few cars over 200,000 and one over 300,000.
At one time, I would get these jobs where I would have to drive an hour to work. So it was some 100+ miles per day on that alone. When I was back in college, summer between junior and senior year, I had an internship over in Detroit for Polygram.
I had to drive over there 3-5 times a week depending on what work they had for me to do. So that is basically me driving from the S.W. corner of Michigan, across the state to their Warren office. Like 300+ miles per day on that drive alone.
The drive sucks, but driving out of Detroit was the worst. Driving in, if you hit the highways at 10A. You were wide open and smooth sailing. If you hit before then, it was bumper to bumper, or speed racer madness.
Coming out of Detroit, unless it was after 7-8P, it would take me 4-5 hours to get home, and 2-2:3 to get in. So the drive out was always the worst especially at 4-6P.
However, it was a useful internship. Even for no pay.
