Huge animal lover here but I wouldn't condone your actions. You killed a dangerous dog, good. Your method might have been a bit nutty, hacking at it with a machete and then its not dead but other than that its a huge danger to you and others so fuck it.
If I had a dog attack me my family or my own dog I wouldn't think twice about fucking it right up.
